A keystone shrub found in many different habitats from coastal bluffs and grasslands to woodlands. Coyote brush have male flowers and female flowers. Chaff from female seed heads lines birds' nests. Male heads are little fragrant buttons. Fabulous insect plant, good colonizer on tough sites. Shrubs can be pruned into elegant forms.
Plant with manzanitas, coffee berry, ceanothus, and toyon. Attracts many native insects. Goldfinches and sparrows love the seeds! |
